Sha Tin Racecourse Silver Jubilee Cup

Sha Tin Racecourse Silver Jubilee Meeting set for Saturday, 11 October

To mark the 25th Anniversary of the opening of Sha Tin Racecourse, the Sha Tin
Racecourse Silver Jubilee Meeting is set for Saturday, 11 October with two feature races on the race card - the Sha Tin Racecourse Silver Jubilee Cup and the Sha Tin Sprint Trophy.

The Sha Tin Racecourse Silver Jubilee Cup will be run in race 9, a Class One event over 1600m carrying HK$1,600,000 prize money. The Honourable Sir David Akers-Jones will present the Cup to the winning owner.

Sha Tin Racecourse is one of the world's best-equipped racecourses and home to the Hong Kong International Races. Built entirely on reclaimed land, the Sha Tin Racecourse was opened on 7 October 1978 after six years of planning, preparation and construction. At that time, Sha Tin was a little more than a village, and grew into bustling new town right along with the racecourse.
