All
successful applicants under the Scholarship Scheme will be named
Jockey Club Scholars. They are expected to contribute significantly
to the community, both during and upon completion of their studies.
The Jockey Club Scholars Alumni Association
was established with the guidance and support of The Hong Kong Jockey
Club Charities Trust. It aims to foster the bonds and friendship
among scholars and promote the spirit of service to the Hong Kong
community.
The Association is operated by an Executive Committee. Over the past years, the Association has organised a number of activities and training workshops for its members, including community services to serve the elderly, single-parent families, young people at risk, new arrivals and disabled children.
For their event details, please browse the Association's website.
A presentation ceremony is held in March each year. The Vice-Chancellor/President or their representatives from each of the universities/institutions accompany their students to receive the awards from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.
A graduation dinner is held in November/December each year to celebrate the graduation of Jockey Club Scholars from their respective universities. Guests of the past graduation celebration dinners have included Mr Tung Chee Hwa, the former HKSAR Chief Executive; Mrs Anson Chan, the former Chief Secretary for Administration; Mr Po Chung, Chairman Emeritus of DHL International Limited; Ms Marjorie Yang, Chairman and CEO of Esquel Group; and Sir Yang Ti-Liang, former Chief Justice. These well known leaders have shared with the scholars their experience in community service and personal development.
