The Club is one of the oldest membership clubs in Asia, dating back to 1884. Membership stands at 20,000 and is highly prized. All new applicants must be introduced by one of the 200 Voting Members, and only a limited number of applications are accepted each year.
As well as enjoying special privileges at the two racecourses, where they can entertain in style in private boxes, Members can make use of three exclusive Clubhouses at Happy Valley, Sha Tin and Beas River.
The Club's mission is to be the best membership club in Asia, in keeping with its world-class racing product. Within the modern Clubhouses, Members can enjoy a range of hospitality from the relaxed ambience of outdoor food plazas to the most sophisticated Chinese and Western dining. The Club's award-winning chefs create exciting seasonal menus while a guest chef programme offers gourmet experiences from around the world.
A thriving sports culture within the Membership provides a focal point for enthusiasts of all ages. Family entertainment is a priority with many activities and programmes catering to Members' children.
Beas River Country Club, near Fanling in the New Territories, provides a relaxed setting where Members can stay overnight in luxury chalets and enjoy riding horses themselves - either for leisure or competitively, as Beas River hosts a number of major equestrian events.
The Beijing Hong Kong Jockey Club Clubhouse, the Club's first operation on the Mainland, opened on 10 April 2008. It is intended to provide Members with a "home away from home" when they visit Beijing for business or leisure purposes.
