Winning Region" available for the first time on this Tuesdays Melbourne Cup

01/11/2015

HKJC Horse Race Betting Limited will offer Winning Region (Composite Win) for the first time at this Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup Day (3 November). Six races from the Melbourne Cup Day will be simulcast from Flemington Racecourse of Australia.  The Melbourne Cup, scheduled as Simulcast Race 3 (S1-3), will offer Winning Region, giving customers an alternative way to pick the winner.

Winning Region is one of the Composite Win options, allowing customers to pick all the starters from their preferred region which are running in the same race.  Horses are grouped into three or four composites according to the region they represent (not the country of origin). Customers will receive a dividend if any horse within their selected composite wins.

Winning Region for the Melbourne Cup will start selling from noon on 2 November after the composites are defined.  Turnover from Winning Region will be merged into the existing Win pool and dividends will be calculated on a pari-mutuel basis.
