Happy Valley will again be at the heart of the action this Wednesday (9 December) when for the 18th time the world's top jockeys will battle it out for the LONGINES International Jockeys' Championship. The coveted Championship features a star-studded line-up of 12 elite jockeys, four Hong Kong-based and eight visiting.
As well as the great on-track action, fans attending the opening event of the fantastic International Races Week will be treated to a fun night of games at the international-themed party, with a travel gift voucher worth HK$10,000 as the top prize!
Share beers and cheers in the ever-popular Beer Garden
Join with friends and enjoy the special International Cheering Party in the Happy Valley Beer Garden on 9 December. Fans can have a trackside view of the racing action as well as the chance to enjoy a huge array of other attractions.
- See an amazing pyrotechnics display during the Opening Ceremony after Race 3, when the 12 participating jockeys will greet the fans (Photo 1)
- Receive a souvenir bandana when voting for your favourite competing jockeys in person at Happy Valley Racecourse. A top prize of a $10,000 travel certificate goes to the fan creating the best cheering slogan. Themed merchandise including jackets and caps will also be given away as prizes

The opening race of the evening will start at 6:30 pm. The four-leg LONGINES IJC will comprise races 4, 5, 7 and 8. The trophy presentation will be held on the turf immediately after the completion of the final leg. Nine races have been scheduled for the evening.
