G1 - 2400m – Turf

Candarliya

A six-times winner who mostly competes over longer distances than this nowadays, but has had this race on her agenda for some time. A beaten favourite in a G2 at Deauville last time but she had previously looked sharper when landing a G2 at Saint-Cloud. She finished an excellent second in this race last year and will appreciate the expected drying ground.

Endless Time

A specialist at this distance, but versatile groundwise. She ran a stinker last time but is much more favourably judged on her previous victory in G2 company at Haydock, overcoming a 258-day absence but winning in style.

Golden Valentine

She looks to be a fast improving filly judging by the acceleration she showed to beat The Juliet Rose (who is better off at the weights this time) and others in a G3 over 2500m at Deauville last month. Back in May she had won a lesser race over Sunday's course and distance.

The Juliet Rose

Has won three from six starts including a G3 over this course and distance in June when showing some sharp acceleration. She was beaten into second by Golden Valentine in a G3 at Deauville last time and, though the winner looked in control in the closing stages then. The Juliet Rose does have a weight pull this time.

Highlands Queen

Involved in a rough race for the G1 Prix de Diane at Chantilly in June, for which her rider received a hefty ban. However she put that behind her when producing a powerful surge to win a G2 at Deauville last month. She proved her stamina that day as well as her capacity to thrive on good as well as soft ground.

Left Hand

In the G1 Prix de Diane at Chantilly in June she suddenly showed huge improvement when fitted with cheekpieces, only just failing to land a 24-1 shock win. She then needed to work hard to win a G3 over 2000m at Deauville and now moves up in distance which her trainer believes may bring yet more improvement.
