Coming off second at same conditions race on 11 Sep. after dropping down from G3. Best results at this distance. Accelerated strongly last out amid high pace. Promising.

Chief Assessment

Has broken poorly in last two starts. Ran second end April in Kyoto 1200m. Break is key. A draw midfield or further out would help.

Chuwa Baby

Best an eighth in last four starts. Hasn’t won since April 2015, over Nakayama 1200m at this level. Poor starter but did break well last out over Hakodate 1000m in July. Kickback strong and showed no response to whip around final bend. Can do better if makes break.

M M Arion

Finished 9th and 10th in last two starts at this class after moving up in class. Led in last start over Fukushima 1150m. Was marked and hounded by three others. No room for breather. Flagged turning for home.

No More Game

Stepping down in class after last three starts at open class, including G1 at Ohi. Won over Nakayama 1200m in class below in March this year over slightly heavy going. Races from behind. 

Sharaku

Returning after three and a half months off. Recent form inconsistent, but has had last eight races over 1200m at this class.

Sound Django

Stepping up in class after win of Nakayama 1200m on 10 Sep. Had excellent trip. Traveled well with good speed. Looks promising.

South King

Best an eighth in three starts this year at this class, two at Nakayama over 1200m. Last start was 15th place on 17 July over 1150m at Fukushima.

Sting Like Bee

Returning after 3 months off. Unplaced in last two starts but won Nakayama 1200m at this class in race prior. Does poorly racing to left. Return to Nakayama a plus.

Sunny Days

Reaped a third and two unplaced finishes from last three starts, all at this class over 1300-1400m. Ran second in Nakayama 1200m last September at class lower. Returning after 3 months.

Touch Shitai

Has consistently made board at distance this year at this level. Runs well in pack but loses interest when moved out on own in stretch.

Usagino Kakeashi

Is coming off a solid win at lower class in Niigata 1200m. Won Nakayama 1200m in April at class below. Can handle all ground. Now expected to be able to handle step up in class.

Various Summer

Returning after 3 months off. Unplaced in last two starts after moving up to this class. Not promising.

Warrior's Soul

Successful at the distance. Failed to quicken and ran sixth last out in high-paced Hanshin 1200m in June. Won at Nakayama under these conditions in April amid slow pace. Can handle any going. Expected to improve.

Win Voyager

Returned to track for first time since Jun. In spring of 2015, had three seconds in a row at this class, including in Nakayama 1200m. Return to former heights look iffy.

Yoshio

Finished third less than a length off winner last out in a race of same conditions on 18 Sep. Slow from gate but pushed to midfield. Outside gate served as plus as run on outside spared him kickback. Previous race saw last-place finish in G3. Have expectations.
