Palentino

Track specialist who is twice a Group 1 winner at this course and distance; most recently in the Makybe Diva Stakes on 10 September when one length to the good of Black Heart Bart (won next start). Then failed with last 7.7 lengths last of 13 behind Hauraki in G1 Epsom Handicap at Randwick on 1 October.

Backs up from last Saturday when impressive 1 length winner from Lidari in the G2 Crystal Mile (1600m) at Moonee Valley. G1 winner in previous campaign and rates highly if has recovered well from last week.

Stratum Star

Fitter for second run this season when strong finishing 3.1 lengths 5th to stablemate Voodoo Lad in G3 Moonga Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on 15 October. No wins but placed five of six start this distance and placed all three course and distance.

He’s Our Rokkii

Chases his sixth straight win and fourth from as many starts this season after sound long neck win from Great Esteem in G1 Toorak Handicap (1600m) at Caulfield on 8 October. Capable all conditions.

Le Romain

Classy galloper who looks well suited under these condition. Sound effort last time when 1.2 lengths 5th to Hauraki and Dibayani in G1 Epsom Handicap (1600m) at Randwick on 1 October. Won G1 Randwick Guineas at 1600m.

Thunder Fantasy

Terrific performance at first run for 70 weeks (since unplaced 2015 Queen Mother at Sha Tin) to carry top weight of 139lb to half length win from His Majesty in Randwick 1400m Handicap on 8 October.

Voodoo Lad

Powerful finisher who boasts five wins and four placings from his past nine starts but now on trial at this distance. Impressed when 1.5 lengths winner from Takedown in the G3 Moonga Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on 15 October.

Bon Aurum

Scored successive wins at 1400m including G1 Rupert Clarke Stakes before fair 1.7 lengths 6th to He’s Our Rokkii in G1 Toorak Handicap (1600m) at Caulfield on 8 October. Yet to be placed in three runs at 1600m but does have good Flemington record.

Good Project

G1 Railway Stakes winner at this distance in Perth in November 2015. Sound effort at second run this season when carried top weight into 1.9 lengths 4th to Voodoo Lad in G 3 Moonga Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on 15 October.

Hopfgarten

Settled too far back when 4.25 lengths 11th to Voodoo Lad in G3 Moonga Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on 15 October and capable of better this track and distance.

Mackintosh

Stepped up in class and ran very well at second start this season when on speed in 0.3 lengths 3rd to Hauraki and Dibayani in G1 Epsom Handicap (1600m) at Randwick on 1 October. Lightly raced and very promising.

Humidor

New Zealand galloper who comes back in trip after short neck 2nd to rejuvenated Willie Cazals in G1 Livamol Classic (2040m) at Hastings on 1 October. Won two from two at 1600m and capable all conditions but soft ground a plus.

Great Esteem

Front-runner who was very good long neck 2nd to He’s Our Rokkii in G1 Toorak Handicap (1600m) at Caulfied on 8 October at latest run.

Mccreery

Hampered at start and ran on well when 1.6 lengths 6th to Hauraki and Dibayani in G1 Epsom Handicap (1600m) at Randwick on 1 October. Three wins, two placings from previous six starts at the distance.

Tivaci

Raced handy and battled on well when 0.9 lengths 3rd to  He’s Our Rokkii in G1 Toorak Handicap (1600m) at Caulfield on 8 October. If anything better suited at this track where has sound record.

Seaburge

Produced strong finish head 2nd to Divine Prophet in G1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m) on 8 October. Takes on the older horses but well weighted.

 

Reserve

Entirely Platinum

Freshened since 6.6 lengths last of seven behind Moral Victory in G2 Shannon Quality (1500m) at Rosehill on 24 September. Would have to improve sharply on recent form.
