The Japanese wave is back!

07/11/2016

To coincide with the Japan Racing Association (JRA) Trophy on 16 November, Happy Wednesday will host a trio of Japanese-themed parties on the nights of 9, 16 and 23 November (Photos 1, 2, 3).  Featuring live band performances and special on-course activities, complemented by a wide range of Japanese gourmet treats, racegoers can be sure of enjoying a total Japanese on-track experience.

Adding to the excitement on the track will be live music from resident band Carnivale and loads of fun to be had:

  • Don one of  the special kimonos readied on site and pose for snaps under the Japanese-style temple archway decorations
  • Get into the Japanese festival mood with a free uchiwa fan when you buy a pint of beer
  • Try winning a pair of return air tickets to Kyushu, Japan by buying a pint of Kirin beer, then posing for a photo with it and uploading to designated social media with dedicated hashtags. The best photo each night wins this fantastic prize.

Racegoers can enjoy a true taste of Japan with the limited-time only trackside food menu.  Dishes include those of renowned HK Japanese Club Head Chef Fukata-san’s creation, a top-notch taste of the best Japanese cuisine! Various types of sake and sake-based cocktails will also be on sale to provide a perfect accompaniment to these treats.
