1200m – Turf

1

Arr Flair

This four-year-old Australian-bred newcomer to Singapore is by Dash For Cash out of My Fair Lago. He trialled quite well, finishing second.

2

Ocean De Lago

Two starts for a win over the 1200m on turf. He came with a strong run to beat newcomer Lim's Shot, who went on to win last Friday. It was a complete turnaround from his debut when he trailed a field of 12 over the Poly 1000m.

3

Redmayne

Three starts for a good last-start victory over the 1200m on turf. Before that, he ran a close second over the Poly 1100m and was fourth first-up over the Poly 1000m. So, the consistency is there and, with further improvement, he should make his presence felt.

4

Sun Mirage

Seven starts for a win over the 1200m on turf. One who always finished thereabouts, he scored three starts back, then ran a forgettable ninth from a wide barrier before showing up last time out with a close second over the 1200m again. Expect him to shine again.

5

Knight Chen Bay

Five starts for a win  over 1200m on turf. He came with a handy record from Australia (three starts, three seconds) and lived up to his overseas form in with a win, a second and a third in his frst four Singapore outings. Surprisingly, he lost his bearing last time out when he beat only one home. But don't rule him out yet.

6

Vraad

11 starts for a win over 1400m on turf. He is not a bad horse, just that he mixes his form. After his third-start win, he went off the radar, then showed up with a second, also over 1400m. He has been dismal in his last two runs again. Anyway, the 1200m looks a tad short for him.

7

Celeritas

15 starts for a win over the Poly 1100m. One who likes to race forward, he led throughout three starts back in Class 5. Last time out in Class 4, he wobbled a bit for a 5.4-length sixth over the Poly 1100m. This is a strong race, so it's a tall order for him.

8

War Citi

Eight starts for a win over the Poly 1100m. Her victory came at the end of January and her best since then had been two third placings. Take note she once finished 0.4 length third to Alibi, who is the likely favourite in the Group 2 EW Barker Trophy.

9

Typhon

Four starts for a second and a third, both over the 1200m on turf. He was expected to lead last time out but could not and finished a 2.5-length fifth to Redmayne. He will race on the pace and whether he can go on with it against this lot is left to be seen.

10

Skywalk

Four starts for a win over the Poly 1100m. He then backed up a week later in a Group 2 for 2YOs and failed the task. He then bounced back with a second in a Group 3 for 2YOs. After a short rest, he was expected to win first-up but was caught right on the wire. He should have a top chance with that run under his belt.

11

Splinter

Two starts for a win over the 1200m on turf. He won first-up in a fast time for a newcomer, stamping himself as a horse with a bright future. He was backed down to odds-on in his next start over 1400m and fell victim to the second-run syndrome. Expect him to bounce back with a vengeance with a handy weight.

12

Dicaprio

Five starts for a win over the 1200m on turf. After three improving starts in Restricted Maiden events, he broke through in a similar affair. He was supported to follow up but ran into all sorts of problems, such as racing keenly, hanging out badly and badly checked. He deserves another chance.

13

Smart Master

Eight starts for a win over the Poly 1100m. His best efforts from his first seven starts were two well-beaten fourths and he sprang a big surprise with a storming run last start to win by 2.5 lengths. Although winning form is good form, this is a much stronger race.

14

Nova Missile

This three-year-old Australian-bred by I Am Invincible out of Star Prize is a newcomer to Singapore. He has been trialling well for his debut, winning once and finished second twice from three attempts.
