WAYFOONG VINNIE (V055) - 30 November 2016 V Race 6, THE ST ANDREW'S CHALLENGE QUAICH HANDICAP

28/11/2016

The Stewards have spoken with Trainer J Size regarding his application to remove the Ring Tongue Bit and add a Lugging Bit to the gear carried by WAYFOONG VINNIE, a declared starter in the St Andrew’s Challenge Quaich Handicap (Race 6, Class 3, 1200 Metres) to be conducted at the Happy Valley race meeting on Wednesday, 30 November 2016. WAYFOONG VINNIE was successful at its most recent race start over the course and distance on 16 November 2016 when racing with a Hood and a Ring Tongue Bit.

Mr Size explained that in its most recent race start and, in particular, during the concluding stages, WAYFOONG VINNIE lay in under pressure. As such, he applied a Lugging Bit to the horse in its subsequent trackwork and he is satisfied that the addition of this piece of equipment will assist the horse in racing more tractably.

Having considered the merits of Mr Size’s application, the Stewards have approved for WAYFOONG VINNIE to race with Hood and a Lugging Bit in the stated race.
