Get 2017 off to a lucky start at Sha Tin Racecourse on January 1 and receive a Lucky Keychain

13/12/2016

The New Year is just round the corner. Racing fans can get 2017 off to a galloping start by attending the "Lucky Start January 1 Raceday" (photo 1) at Sha Tin Racecourse.  And with a total of $90 million up for grabs in racing, football and Mark Six jackpots during the first three days of 2017, there is plenty to cheer about.

Mega-jackpots worth $90 million
Race fans everywhere will benefit from "Lucky Start" top ups on 1 January. For the Triple Trio the payout for a single $10 winning unit is expected to reach $17 million. Meanwhile, the Quartet & First 4 Merged Pool for Race 7 and Race 11 will be topped up with $1 million each. In addition, the jackpot for HKJC Football's "Eng Premier 6HaFu"pool will be topped up to a total of $1 million on 2 January, while the estimated First Division Prize Fund for the Mark Six New Year Snowball Draw, held on 3 January, may reach $70 million. Together these special jackpot prizes add up to $90 million (photo 2) to celebrate the New Year.

Lucky Keychain for free upon admission
On New Year's Day, the good fortune will start immediately on admission with all racegoers receiving a Lucky Keychain (photo 3) until the start of Race 6, or while stocks last.  The design of this souvenir keychain combines two horseshoes to form an icon of "Win" to bring double good luck to racegoers, as a horseshoe is one of the most well-known good luck symbols in western culture.

Celebrities play mini-games with racegoers
Adding to the excitement, "Lucky Twin"- singers Joyce Cheng (photo 4)  and Alfred Hui (photo 5) will be accompanied by "Lucky Babies" – TV stars Mayanne Mak (photo 6) and Ashley Chu (photo 7). The celebrities will move around Sha Tin Racecourse, playing mini-games with racegoers and distributing fabulous gifts.

New range of merchandise for 2017
Racegoers keen to get even more of a "Lucky Start" should check out the themed merchandise, a Wine Rack ($1,288) (photo 8) and a Magazine Holder ($988) (photo 9), which also follow the horseshoe theme and are designed by local designer Hong Lai.

A range of brand new merchandise for 2017 will also be on sale at Sha Tin Racecourse from 1 January.  All merchandise items will be available at designated sales counters in the Public Betting Hall and Members' Enclosure, and Gift at Races at Sha Tin Racecourse*.
