G2 – 2410m – Turf

1

Rembrandt Van Rijn

A formerly useful handicapper when based in the UK, and generally consistent in the UAE though a tricky ride. Came late and wide when a close second to Prize Money in a handicap here last month but is worse off at the weights with that rival.

2

Famous Kid

His most recent Meydan start was when third in the same 2810m handicap he had won the previous year, though having a harder task at the weights and suffering a bad trip. Gelded since and ran well on a recent start but doesn't look Godolphin's main hope in this.

3

Memorial Day

A big horse who is happier on good rather than fast ground, he has won four of his ten starts. However he ran a shocker on his Meydan debut last month when tried on the dirt and no surprise to see him back on the lawn here.

4

Prize Money

Very progressive especially since having been gelded and fitted with a hood. Two very good efforts at Meydan this season, latterly when winning a handicap under top weight and no surprise to see him playing in a higher grade now.

5

King Bolete

A useful handicapper at around this distance in the UK but last seen when pacemaking for Postponed in a G1 at York, and likely to have the same role here.

6

Dylan Mouth

A real moneyspinner who has won two of his three Italian G1's at this distance. Some ambitious plans didn't work out last year but he has run two very encouraging races at Meydan and interesting here with Frankie Dettori on board for the first time.

7

Emotionless

A potential star at two, romping to a G2 victory on just his second start. However he's become frustrating and can get too far behind in his races. Tried on dirt the last two starts, showing promise last time but back on turf and up in trip here.

8

Cooptado

Finished fifth in this race two years ago, leading for much of the journey. He was locally trained then but is now based in Germany and recent starts - though not awful - haven't suggested that he is good enough to make a huge impact here.

9

Good Trip

Best run at Meydan this year came when a close runner-up in a 2000m handicap in January, finishing well that day. However on the basis of subsequent starts and his rating, his chance looks extremely remote here.

10

Postponed

By far the highest rated horse competing on this card. He romped to victory in this race last year and three subsequent G1 victories confirmed him as one of the best horses in the world, only to lack his killer punch in the Arc last October. Hard to beat here, surely.
