It was previously announced that Club Jockey Zac Purton had been granted permission to be absent from Hong Kong to fulfil a riding engagement on TEASPOON in the Golden Slipper Stakes (Group 1) to be run at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse, Australia on Saturday, 18 March 2017.
Jockey Purton, who was stood down by the Club’s medical officer and unable to fulfil riding engagements at the Happy Valley meeting conducted last night, has this morning advised Stewards that he will seek further specialist treatment for his medical condition and will consequently forego the aforementioned riding engagement on TEASPOON in the stated race. He added that he is confident of being fit to fulfil his race riding engagements at the Sha Tin race meeting on Sunday, 19 March 2017.
A further release will be issued at the appropriate time.
