Chautauqua

Back to right trip after 8.6 lengths 3rd to champion mare Winx in G1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill on 18 March. Past three 1200m runs going right handed have produced wins in past two editions of this race and in the Chairman’s Sprint Prize. Capable all conditions.

Malaguerra

Impressive 2 lengths winner from Black Heart Bart in G2 Australia Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on 27 January before below best at 1400m when 2.6 lengths 6th to same horse in G1 Orr Stakes on 11 February. Won on good and soft rated tracks. Unknown heavy. Good 3rd in barrier trial on 20 March.

Terravista

Won G1 Lightning Stakes at 1000m at first run this year. Then slow pace and wide draw against when 5.8 lengths 12th to Redkirk Warrior in G1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m) at Flemington 11 March. Capable all conditions. Won four of six at this course and distance.

Rebel Dane

Just fair when 3.3 lengths 9th to Silent Sedition in G1 William Reid Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley 24 March. That was first run since 11th to Aerovelocity in LONGINES Hong Kong Sprint last December. Softer ground may help.

Japonisme

Failed on heavy ground at Randwick before 2 lengths 5th to Silent Sedition in G1 William Reid Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley 24 March. Two runs this course and distance have been sound. Best form on good to soft ground.

Fell Swoop

Doubt relished heavy ground but ran OK when 6.6 lengths 6th to Russian Revolution in G1 The Galaxy (1100m) at Rosehill on 18 March. Prefer on good to soft ground. Second in this race last year and Moreira rides.

Spieth  

Moderate tempo against when 3.3 lengths 9th to Redkirk Warrior in G1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m) at Flemington 11 March. Beaten a nose in two previous G1 sprints. Won on good and soft ground; unknown on heavy.

Voodoo Lad

Excellent effort when 2 lengths 2nd to Redkirk Warrior in G1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m) at Flemington 11 March. That was first run since October. Unplaced only once in 19 start career and capable all conditions.

Rock Magic

Ran on well when 1.5 lengths 4th to Silent Sedition in G1 William Reid Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley 24 March. That was first run since November when 1200m G1 third to Takedown. Has won on good and slightly rain affected ground; unknown very soft or heavy.

Target In Sight

Not raced since January when won 1200m Magic Millions Sprint at the Gold Coast on good ground. Placed in barrier trial on 9 March. Boasts five wins and three second from eight first-up runs. OK on good to soft ground; query on heavy.

Tivaci  

Ran on well when 2.5 lengths 5th to Redkirk Warrior in G1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m) at Flemington 11 March. All wins on good rated tracks; placed two of three on soft; unknown heavy.

Won the 1000m G2 Challenge Stakes on heavy ground at this track on 4 March at first run after spell. However jockey said then failed to handle the heavy conditions at Rosehill when 7 lengths 7th to Russian Revolution in G1 The Galaxy (1100m) on 18 March. Prefer at this track. Ran third in this race last year.

Astern

Promising 3YO who’s won five of eight starts. Not raced since October when 1.25 lengths 2nd to Flying Artie in G1 Cooolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington with Russian Revolution behind him. Unbeaten in three fresh runs. Won on good and soft ground; unknown heavy.

Russian Revolution

Smart 3YO who has won five of six starts with only defeat coming at one start down straight course, behind Flying Artie and Astern. First run this year and first on heavy ground when impressive head win from Redzel in G1 The Galaxy (1100m) at Rosehill on 18 March.

Derryn

Up in class but impressed at first run on heavy ground when 1.8 lengths winner from Crafty Cop in Listed Darby Munro Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill on 18 March.
