1000m – Turf

Show Must Go On

From a stable with a particularly good record with two-year-olds and Show Must Go On took no time to get into the winners' enclosure showing plenty of late speed to win on his racecourse debut at Lyon late last month.

Pocket Dynamo

An interesting challenger from the UK. Despite showing his inexperience in both his starts he has shown plenty of speed and proved too strong for his four rivals in a 1000m novices' event on the all-weather at Chelmsford this month. Has worn a hood on both starts.

Imotep

Had taken a fall on her first career start but it didn't hinder her as - despite being the outsider of the seven-runner field - she skipped clear in the closing stages to win a Chantilly conditions' event  last month over this distance and on very soft ground.

Eldanza

Favourite to win a maiden for unraced horses on her debut, at Fontainebleau, and dominated the closing stages for a 4L success. Favourite again in a conditions' race at Chantilly (1000m) last month but faded disappointingly, a well-beaten fifth.

Nakakande

From a small UK stable who do well with their raiders to French two-year-old races and despite the fact she only showed a little promise on her first start, she was sent to Nantes for a maiden (1100m) last month and, though outpaced early on, she came through strongly to win.

Drop Dead Gorgeous

Provided this smart stable with two-year-old winner when making a successful debut as a well-backed favourite in a maiden for unraced fillies over this distance at Chantilly earlier this month. A cheap purchase who is already looking a bargain.

Power Best

A rare Italian-trained contender for this type of event. Power Best made a winning debut in a claiming race over this distance in Rome last month. That was probably weak form.

Thegreatestshowman

This UK-trained raider was a 25-1 outsider for his only start - in a 1031m Newbury maiden last month. However he clearly knew his job, leading for most of the way and fighting hard when challenged, finishing a good third.

So Hi Speed

Trained in the UK he had raced much too freely on his debut. Sent into the lead for a 1000m novices' event on his latest start, he only found a stablemate too strong but the pair were clear of the third horse. Moves from all-weather to turf now.
