RAINBOW AND GOLD

The Club's Senior Veterinary Surgeon, Dr K L Watkins, has reported that after RAINBOW AND GOLD worked this morning, Mr P C Kan, trainer of the horse, reported to Dr W H Chan it had coughed. Dr Watkins said RAINBOW AND GOLD was scoped at the Club's Equine Hospital this morning and this revealed a small amount of blood and mucus in the windpipe. Dr Watkins went on to say Mr Kan had told him before he noticed the coughing, the horse had worked well.

RAINBOW AND GOLD will be treated by the Veterinary Surgeons today and tomorrow. The horse will be re-scoped on Friday morning and this will be done to reassess the horse's suitability to run on Sunday.

KING OF DANES

The Club's Veterinary Surgeon, Dr C P H Osborne, has reported that after working at Sha Tin last Friday, KING OF DANES was presented to him with a stiff action in its off side hind leg when at a walk. Dr Osborne said the horse trotted out sound, but had a moderate swelling on the outside of its off side stifle.

Dr Osborne said KING OF DANES was treated with anti-inflammatory medication last Friday and Saturday and the horse's condition is to be reassessed.

BOCELLI

The Club's Veterinary Surgeon, Dr P J Schiff, has reported that when BOCELLI pulled up this morning, the horse was lame in its off side front leg. Dr Schiff said the shoe was removed from the horse's off front foot. Some of the hoof wall was broken away and the horse had been shod with only a single nail on the inside.

Dr Schiff said the Club's Head Farrier, Mr Luke Thompson, has fitted a glue on shoe to the off front foot of BOCELLI and the horse will be re-examined this afternoon.

DAITAKU YAMATO

Dr C P H Osborne has advised that when DAITAKU YAMATO arrived in Hong Kong, it had glue on tab shoes on both front feet and the connections have applied to run the horse in these shoes on Sunday.
