Trainer Sir Michael Stoute was on hand for the first time to watch last year's Vase winner work over 1400 metres on the grass. The son of Sadlers Wells, now a seasoned campaigner, looked as good as ever as he quickened up the straight. "He's a year older and the race looks stronger than last year," says Stoute "but he ran well in Canada in his comeback race last time and we'll try to do the same again. I hope he'll get in the first three."
