HKIR News : Veterinary Report - HKIR Runner ¡V TERRE A TERRE

14 December 2001

After working this morning it was reported that TERRE A TERRE had pulled up lame in front. It was established the rider jumped off the horse after pulling it up to re-adjust the girth. He then walked the horse in hand for about 20 metres, remounted and rode TERRE A TERRE back to the quarantine area.

After returning to its stable TERRE A TERRE was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. He said there was no sign of any lameness nor was there any heat, pain or swelling in the horse's legs.

Dr K L Watkins this afternoon has advised that the pre-travel veterinary certificate he received from France stated TERRE A TERRE is a bad mover and when the horse was examined again this afternoon, apart from the somewhat scratchy action at the trot, no other abnormalities were detected and at this time TERRE A TERRE is suitable to race on Sunday.
