HONG KONG SPRINT
(Gr 2 -- 1000m) HK$8 million
MORLUC (USA)
Looking like a coiled spring on the verge of being released, Morluc made
a pair of cantering circuits of the Sha Tin turf course this morning.
Trainer Randy Morse said that while he's not thrilled having the 14 post
in tomorrow's Hong Kong Sprint, "I can live with it."
NUCLEAR DEBATE (USA)
Nuclear Debate was out on the Sha Tin turf course this morning, displaying
an action that was a touch faster than a jog, One circuit was all he covered.
Nuclear Debate looks well, although those on the Sha Tin backside who
feel he can win tomorrow's Hong Kong Sprint are few in number.
THE TRADER (UK)
Kevin Darley was aboard The Trader for a final light canter on the all
weather track ahead of Sunday's race." He's on his toes today, and
we'll see what happens tomorrow", he said.
HONG KONG VASE (Gr 1 -- 2400m) HK$14 million
WHITE HEART (USA)
Trainer Neil Drysdale was at the track to see White Heart for the first
time since his eighth-place finish in the Japan Cup. "Gary (Stevens)got
shuffled back in that race, but he was running on at the end," said
Drysdale. Stevens confirmed that he would be looking to get a more forward
position in the race on Sunday." If things had gone to plan in Japan,
I think I would have been third", he added.
HONG KONG MILE (Gr 1 -- 1600m) HK$14 million
FORBIDDEN APPLE (USA)
Trainer Christophe Clement reiterated his belief this morning that Forbidden
Apple has been training for the Hong Kong Mile brilliantly, and will be
"the horse to beat" when the field goes postward tomorrow.
HONG KONG CUP (Gr 1 -- 2000m) HK$18 million
TOBOUGG (UAE)
Trainer Saeed bin Suroor was also at the track for the first time, and
confirmed that Tobougg was Godolphin's best hope of their trio. "
I think he has a major chance, and he'll run very well. He likes to be
up with the leaders, and that's where Frankie will ride him," he
said.
