63, has enjoyed a very varied and successful career in Hong Kong racing as a jockey, tutor to apprentice jockeys, deputy starter, stipendiary steward and trainer spanning more than four decades. He won the Victorian jockey's premiership in his native Australia in 1959/60 as an apprentice and later moved to Hong Kong in 1971 where he rode for eight years, winning 109 races. He finished riding in 1979 and took up training here in 1988 and has since turned out over 300 winners. His best season was last year with 34 victories.

36, won the Breeders' Cup Turf on Miss Alleged in 1991 and soon afterwards was persuaded to move to Hong Kong by former boss Patrick Biancone with whom he enjoyed plenty of success including the Hong Kong Derby on Helene Star in 1993 and Johan Cruyff in 1998. He is married to former apprentice Sherie Kong, and is now a Club jockey. Legrix has racked up over 300 winners in Hong Kong with his best season being in 1997/98 with 41 triumphs. He won the Group 1 Champions Mile last season on Red Pepper.
