The Hong Kong Jockey Club Executive Director, Racing Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges gives his views after the end of racing on Audemars Piguet QE II Cup Day.

The HKJC's Executive Director of Racing, Winfried Englebrecht-Bresges said: "Today's was the highest rated field ever for the APQEII Cup which shows that this race is constantly improving in terms of quality and that it is a worthy addition to the World Series Racing Championship.

To win or be placed, you do have to target these races and people in the Northern Hemisphere will have to readjust to the strength of horseracing in this part of the world.

A bit of good news for Hong Kong is that Eishin Preston's trainer said he will be going for the Hong Kong Cup in December which means we could win the Mile now with Electronic Unicorn!"

Head of Handicapping, Race Planning & Int'l Racing Department, Mr C Kennelly speaks to the press after the close of racing on Audemars Piguet QE II Cup Day.

Senior Handicapper Ciaran Kennelly joked: "What Eishin Preston's trainer didn't tell us is that he has two better at home!"

"Highly rated horse have finished in the first four," Kennelly added. "It is important in these international races that top horses run well so the incentive is there for them to keep coming back. At this stage we have allocated the winner an international rating of 120, with 118 for the runner-up [Agnes Digital], 117 for the third [Indigenous] and 116 for the fourth [Universal Prince]. I must state also that it was an incredible run by Indigenous who has to be admired for his consistency."
