The Japan Cup will be simulcast to Hong Kong scheduled as Race 4 at the Sha Tin race meeting on Sunday, 24 November.
The day's programme is a combination of local and overseas races. To avoid delay in local races caused by the simulcast, The Hong Kong Jockey Club will separate the Japan Cup from the local races and the following special arrangements have been made:
1. All Up and Double Bets
All Up bets for local races cannot be mixed with bets on the Japan Cup, the simulcast race. Double bets will not be available for the Japan Cup either.
2. Keyboard Selling Not Accepted at Counters
Betting counters of the two racecourses will not accept "Keyboard Selling" - a service in which bets are keyed in by counter staff for customers betting on a simulcast race. Only marked tickets will be accepted.
3. Mark 'X1' on Betting Tickets
Customers should mark the 'X1' box on betting tickets when betting on the simulcast race (photo 1). The 'X1' marking will be printed on the back of the valid tickets for customers' reference (photo 2).
Betting procedures for Telebet service, Customer Input Terminal (CIT), CIT-PDA, Two Way Messenger (TWM), Mobile Betting Service and 'eWin' - the online betting service on the Jockey Club website are unchanged. Customers using 'eWin' will see 'X1' displayed on their computer screens, representing the respective simulcast race and Telebet customers will be reminded by operators that they have made such bets.
4. Starter Information for Japan Cup
Starter information for the Japan Cup will be posted at all Off Course Betting branches and the racecourses. It will also be available at the Jockey Club's Voice Response Enquiry Hotline 1813, the Jockey Club's website www.hongkongjockeyclub.com and printed media. However, the information will not be available at CIT, CIT-PDA, TWM or InfoTouch, the touch-screen information system at racecourses.
