The South China Morning Post Centenary Cup stirs up HV Million Challenge

This year marks the centenary of the South China Morning Post - Hong Kong's number one English language newspaper - and it's a perfect chance for the paper to once again confirm their commitment to Hong Kong.

The South China Morning Post is delighted to sponsor Tuesday's card on November 4 2003 at Happy Valley and Publisher, Mr. Tad Beczak, and Group Editor-in-Chief, Mr. David Armstrong, will present the South China Morning Post Centenary Cup to the winning owner after Race 9.

The feature race, together with Races 8 and 10, are included in the Happy Valley Million Challenge series, half of which has now been completed and those hoping to win the inaugural Challenge and the bonus of HK$1,000,000 in total must seize every chance before the end of December.

The excitement will build on Tuesday and horses that had previously won points again proved the ones to follow at Happy Valley last Wednesday when there were three Challenge races.

Nine of the runners that competed had already won points and produced two winners, a second, a third, a fourth and two fifths that night - 22% and 44.4% of the 9 won and placed respectively, and four runners having grabbed the first four positions in Race 6.
