The Club is delighted to invite overseas and local Owners' and Trainers' children (under the age of 18) to attend Hong Kong's international races. It is the mission of the Club to provide our guests of all ages the best holiday experience possible. A specifically dedicated team will ensure all young guests' needs are satisfied at the pre-allocated dining and entertaining areas during the visit. Young guests will also be accompanied by our staff to visit the Parade Ring, and if required the Winners' Circle as well as attending trophy presentation the ceremony if necessary while bypassing all betting related areas.
Government Regulations for Underage (Under 18) Visitors attending Race Meetings:
a. Underage persons attending any race meetings must remain in designated dining and entertainment areas.
b. Underage persons attending any race meetings are not allowed to visit any betting areas where betting devices and information are available.
c. Special arrangements will be arranged for visiting underage persons to attend the Parade Ring, and if required the winning photo session and/or trophy presentation ceremony.
d. Underage persons are not allowed to place bets themselves or assign anyone to place bets on their behalf whilst in Hong Kong.
Race-goers may use mobile phones in designated areas. Mobile phones must be switched to "SILENCE" or "VIBRATION" mode.
All official visitors will be issued with badges. Badges must be worn and openly displayed at all appropriate times, including at race meetings and during track work.
International runners are stabled in approved quarantine premises. Due to Biosecurity Regulations only Trainers, Jockeys and accredited Stable Staff will be issued with a Stable Pass. This must be openly displayed to gain entry to the stables and must be worn at all times inside the stables compound. Any losses should be reported to a Security Department representative immediately.
Access to the Weighing Room and precincts will be strictly restricted to Trainers, Assistant Trainers, Travelling Head Lads, Jockeys and Club Officials.
Owners' earnings are tax free in Hong Kong whilst visiting Trainers' and Jockeys' earnings are subject to Hong Kong tax (currently at 10% of gross income). However, overseas connections are strongly advised to consult their tax experts/accountants in their home country about their respective country's tax liabilities.
