COMMENTS AND PROSPECT:

COMMANDS, bred by Arrowfield Stud and representing Woodlands Stud, was trained by John Hawkes. Notched 4 wins, 1 second and 4 thirds in 15 attempts including a G3 contest, from 1100M to 1400M, he was a place-getter in G1 The Galaxy and Caulfield Guineas. As a son of DANEHILL and full brother of multi G1 winner DANEWIN, COMMANDS was destined for stallion. He starts his stud life in 2000 at Woodlands Stud and the fee was AUS$ 10,000. Three years later, his fee was raised to AUS$ 30,000 since G1 winners were found in his first two lot of runners. In 2008, he performed his stud duties at Darley stud farm and has been to France and Japan for short period of time. There are more than 79 black type contest titles on him. Most of the COMMANDS in HK are early mature type with good early speed, able to handle both turf and dirt; Shatin and Happy Valley. COMMANDS was passed away at Kelvinside Stud on 12th July, 2014.

PRAWN YEAH YEAH was sold in Hong Kong International Sale (March) by HKD$ 3,500,000. He is the last lot of COMMANDS, one of the most popular sires in HK because of the versatility and high winning rate. PRAWN YEAH YEAH’s dam ALAMANTRA is the daughter of the Melbourne Cup 1st runner up in 1998, CHAMPAGNE, which was full of stamina. According to her pedigree background, breeders prefer sprints oriented and early mature talents. Two of ALAMANTRA’s foals won over sprint race. At the beginning of his career, PRAWN YEAH YEAH should be fine over sprints and most effective over mile afterwards.
