  • Ran fourth (4) in a 1000-meter session on May 16, 2017.
  • COMMENTS AND PROSPECT:

HONG KONG’S FOLKS is sired by HINCHINBROOK, a mere two-time (2) winner - with one score each against Group III and listed opposition - ranging from 1100 to 1200 meters. Multiply stakes-placed in Group I competition, HINCHBROOK failed nevertheless to graduate as a Group I winner himself, while as a full-sibling to another Group I champion SNITZEL, his value is somewhat salvaged as a stallion prospect; however, at stud since 2011, HINCHINBROOK has surprisingly a low production as a stallion, with only 219 starters credited to date, yet 136 of which have already found the winner’s circle, keeping pace with a healthy 62% of winners, in particular PRESS STATEMENT, his top-earner who strikes fast in the J.J. Atkins Stakes (AUS-GI) and the Caulfield Guineas (AUS-GI) - both at 1600 meters.

In distance, by the two-time (2) sprint-winning HINCHINBROOK, who accordingly stamps his speed on the majority of his get, HONG KONG’S FOLKS should likewise be a good sprinter.

In course preferences, HONG KONG’S FOLKS, out of a TALE OF THE CAT mare, should be stamped of some legit versatility to act on dirt and turf equally well.

In general outlook, with HINCHINBROOK being a thriving progeny in Australia, and its inherent speed so applicable in Hong Kong, HONG KONG’S FOLKS, who merits some good performances through the barrier trials in overseas and locally, rates to be a lovely cut-back prospect to strike in Class 4.
