OVERSEAS INFO:

Previously conditioned by Paul Cole in Great Britain, DOUBLE POINT, with a 2-1-0 record through five (5) overseas starts,

  • Broke his maiden in a 1400-meter dash against Class 6 juveniles (BHA Scale) on June 22, 2013; from that outing, second-placed COCKNEY BOB is later a five-time winner in non-stakes conditions.
  • Scored again while shipped across the Channel in a right-handed 1500-meter handicap for juveniles in France, dated August 4, 2013; from that same contest, second-placed HONEYMOON COCKTAIL and ROUGE AGENT both scored in their respective next outs.
  • Finished fourth while stepping up in a right-handed, 1600-meter listed event at Deauville on August 20, 2013. From that contest, winner ECTOT scored back-to-back in a Group III event and the Criterium International (FR-GI) at Saint-cloud, while third-placed ELLIPTIQUE is also a Group III winner afterwards.

    COMMENTS AND PROSPECT:

DOUBLE POINT is sired by IFFRAAJ, a 3-time Group II winner out of Saeed bin Suroor's yard back in his racing days that prevailed on 7 occasions overall, ranging from 1200 to 1400 meters, while finishing second in the July Cup (ENG-GI). Serving at stud since 2005, IFFRAAJ was best represented by CHRISELLIAM, the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (US-GIT) winner at Santa Anita last November for the syndicate that includes British jockey legend Willie Carson; sadly, such early favorite for this year's running of the English 1000 Guineas has been plagued with an incurable foot infection, and was euthanized early this year.

As a 4Sx4D NORTHERN DANCER with a Dosage (DP/DI) of 26/2.47, DOUBLE POINT, though deeply influenced by his dam from a physical standpoint, has a stark conformation against half-brother YOUNG SUPREME. Bred for stamina from underneath, and with his winning record at a mile from overseas, DOUBLE POINT should be a talent to thrive with distance, preferably at a mile or further, and is looking to get the job done in Class 3 - and even Class 2.
