Privately Purchased Griffins (PPG) Import Criteria Countries Horses may be qualified and imported from the following countries: Argentina France Italy Singapore * Australia Germany Japan South Africa * Brazil * Great Britain Malaysia * United States of America Canada India * New Zealand   Chile * Ireland Peru *   * No protocols to permit direct importation of horses into Hong Kong. Age Requirements All PPGs must fulfil the age requirements as shown in the table below at the time of import.

Notes:   1: Northern Hemisphere PPGs foaled in 2015 (which will turn 4 years old on 1 January 2019) MUST arrive in Hong Kong before 1 January 2019. 2**: Southern Hemisphere PPGs foaled in 2014 (which will turn 4 years old on 1 August 2018) MUST arrive in Hong Kong before 1 August 2018. 3: Northern Hemisphere PPGs foaled in 2017 may be allowed to be imported after 1 January 2019, subject to stables availability and the individual stable strength limit, on the condition that they are not qualified to be entered to race until they are classified in the Griffin Class in the 2019/2020 season.
