THE POK OI CUP (Premier - 2000M)
The Pok Oi Hospital was first established in 1919, providing charitable social services for the people of Hong Kong with the motto of ¡§We Love, We Care, We Serve¡¨.
Over the years, with the tremendous support from numerous benefactors, including the Hong Kong Jockey Club for the Care and Attention Home in Yuen Long and the Hostel for Single Persons in Chai Wan, Pok Oi Hospital has been able to expand its services to better serve the community. Presently, in addition to its medical hospital, Pok Oi Hospital operates 51 different units offering diverse services such as nursing home, Chinese herbalist clinics, care & attention homes, day care centre for the elderly, multi-service centres for the elderly, hostel for single persons, social centres for the elderly, day nurseries, after-school care services centres, secondary & primary schools and kindergarten.Pok Oi Cup was first held in 1994 and has become an ideal warm-up race for the contenders of Hong Kong Cup and Hong Kong Vase.
