To
celebrate the 55th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic
of China, The Hong Kong Jockey Club is co-organising the National Day
Carnival with the Home Affairs Bureau, the Home Affairs Department, the
Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the Hong Kong Police Force,
The Hong Kong Racehorse Owners Association and various community groups
along with the support from the Hong Kong Tourism Board. The Carnival
will be open to the public of all ages for a fun day at Sha Tin Racecourse
and Penfold Park. Tickets are now for sale at Sha Tin Racecourse, Happy
Valley Racecourse, 40 designated Off-course Betting branches and the URBTIX
outlets*.
Not-to-be-Missed National Day Celebration
The National Day Carnival (PDF format) will be held
on 3 October 2004, Sunday, at Sha Tin Racecourse and Penfold Park, from
11:00 am to 6:00 pm. Spectacular performances and fun-filled family programmes
will be staged. Members of the public and tourists are welcome to join
the Carnival with family members.
A Fun Day for All
About one hundred drummers will appear at the
Carnival along with canto-pop singers Aaron Kwok, Hacken Lee, Gigi Leung
and Jade Kwan, who will also take part in the singing performance. Other
spectacular performances and programmes include a performance by the Yunnan
Province Song and Dance Theatre and a martial arts performance by the
Hong Kong Wushu Union. Also on the calendar will be the National Day Bunting
Design Competition presentation ceremony and bunting display, a pyrotechnics
show, pony rides, miniature ponies, a fun playground, game booths, a youngsters
zone, stage performances and on and on. It will be a fun day for everyone
of every age.
*URBTIX ticket holders are required to redeem
the game coupons upon admission to Sha Tin Racecourse.
