What happened on 26th February 1918 was such a great tragedy. After the catastrophe, the dead were buried in a common tomb at So Kon Po. In 1920s, a traditional Chinese-style Memorial was also erected on the hillside at Tai Hang to harbour the souls of those victims who perished in the blaze.
