Sadly, neither the climate nor the vegetation in Hong Kong is suitable for horses to breed. And that's the reason why runners could only be recruited from other parts of the world. Ponies from Manila, Japan and Arab, as well as horses from Australia and England were shipped here to join our races from the very beginning.
