The Stewards have spoken with Trainer A S Cruz regarding his application to add Sheepskin Cheek Pieces to the gear worn by LEVEL PLAYER, a declared starter in the CHONGQING HANDICAP (Race 3, Class 3, 1800 Metres) to be conducted at the Sha Tin race meeting on Wednesday, 1 October 2014. LEVEL PLAYER was successful at its most recent race start over the course and distance on 1 January 2014 when racing with a Ring Bit and Tongue Tie only.
Mr Cruz explained that LEVEL PLAYER is resuming from a lengthy spell and will benefit from wearing Sheepskin Cheek Pieces as this gear will help the horse to concentrate during the race. He stated he was also very pleased with the manner in which the horse worked on 28 September 2014 when wearing Sheepskin Cheek Pieces.
Having considered the merits of Mr Cruz’s application, the Stewards have approved for LEVEL PLAYER to race with Sheepskin Cheek Pieces in the stated race.
