BRILLIANT SHINE (S099) - 1 October 2014 Sha Tin Racemeeting

29/09/2014

The Stewards have spoken with Trainer C H Yip regarding his application to remove the Crossed Nose Band from the gear worn by BRILLIANT SHINE, a declared starter in the TIANJIN HANDICAP (Race 9, Class 3, 1400 Metres) to be conducted at the Sha Tin race meeting on Wednesday, 1 October 2014. BRILLIANT SHINE was successful at its most recent race start over the course and distance on 25 May 2014 when racing with a Crossed Nose Band, Ring Bit and Tongue Tie.

Mr Yip explained that BRILLIANT SHINE is now more mature and in his view, does not require a Crossed Nose Band in its races. He added that he was satisfied with the manner in which the horse trialed on 6 September 2014 without a Crossed Nose Band.

Having considered the merits of Mr Yip’s application, the Stewards have approved for BRILLIANT SHINE to race without a Crossed Nose Band in the stated race.
