The Hong Kong Jockey Club will simulcast for betting seven races from the Cox Plate Meeting at Moonee Valley racecourse in Melbourne on Saturday, 25 October. (1st race starts 11:25am)
The Cox Plate is widely regarded as the greatest weight-for-age contest in Australasia. Hong Kong Champion Jockey Zac Purton will be bidding for a first victory in the Plate aboard multiple Group 1 winner Sacred Falls. The Chris Waller-trained five-year-old is currently the highest rated Australian galloper in both the Mile and Intermediate distance category in the LONGINES World's Best Racehorse Rankings.
The seven races to be simulcast on Cox Plate Day are:
Drummond Golf Fillies Classic - G2 1600m for 3yo fillies
Dilmah Exceptional Teas Vase (Moonee Valley Vase) – G2 2040m for 3yo
Cox Plate – G1 2040m for 3yo+
Schweppes Crystal Mile - G2 1600m open
City Jeep Handicap – 1000m open handicap
Eliza Park International Stakes (Tesio Stakes) – G3 1600m for 4yo+ fillies and mares
Racing.com Cup (Moonee Valley Gold Cup) – G2 2500m for 4yo+
Final declarations with barrier draws for the Cox Plate will be available on the afternoon of Tuesday, 21 October, while the final declarations with barrier draws for the other races will be published on Wednesday, 22 October.
