Victoria Derby Day - 1 November 2014 (Sat)

The Hong Kong Jockey Club will simulcast for betting six races from the Victoria Derby Day Meeting at Flemington racecourse in Melbourne on Saturday, 1 November.  (1st race 10:30am)

The showcase race of the day, the G1 Victoria Derby, has been run since 1855 and is the oldest Classic in Australia. Carrying a prize of A$1.5 million, the Victoria Derby is the ultimate spring target for the Classic generation.

The card also features the G1 Mackinnon Stakes, which is one of the final lead ups and traditionally a key pointer to the all-important G1 Melbourne Cup on the following Tuesday.

Subject to changes, the six races to be simulcast from Australia are:

Coolmore Stud Stakes (Ascot Vale Stakes) - G1 1200M for 3yo
Lexus Stakes (Hotham Handicap) – G3 2500M handicap
Mackinnon Stakes - G1 2000M for 3yo+
Victoria Derby - G1 2500M for 3yo
Myer Classic (Empire Rose Stakes) - G1 1600M for 3yo+ f&m
TAB.com.au Stakes (Linlithgow Stakes) – G2 1200M handicap

Final declarations with barrier draws for the Victoria Derby Day races will be available on the afternoon of Wednesday, 29 October.

Breeders’ Cup Turf and Breeders’ Cup Sprint - 2 November 2014 (Sun)

In the early morning of Sunday, 2 November, the Breeders’ Cup Turf (G1 2400M turf for 3yo+) and Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1 1200M dirt for 3yo+) will be simulcast live from Santa Anita Park racecourse in California. (1st race 6:23am)

The Michael Chang-trained Rich Tapestry is on a ground breaking mission to become Hong Kong’s first ever runner at the Breeders’ Cup championship. Confidence is high that Rich Tapestry can cap a remarkable year by adding the BC Sprint to his tally following his earlier exploits in Dubai. He deservedly earned his place in the line-up by winning the G1 Santa Anita Sprint Championship over course and distance on 5 October.  The quest for Breeders’ Cup glory however, is not going to be plain sailing as the Sprint has fallen only once to a horse trained outside America in the previous 30 runnings.

Final declarations with barrier draws for the Breeders’ Cup Turf and Sprint will be available on the afternoon of Tuesday, 28 October.

Tenno Sho Autumn - 2 November 2014 (Sun)

During the Sha Tin race meeting on Sunday, 2 November, the Tenno Sho Autumn will be simulcast for betting from Tokyo Racecourse. (2:40pm)

The Tenno Sho Autumn (G1 2000m for 3yo and upwards) with its long history is traditionally one of the most important thoroughbred races in Japan. Offering a prize of approximately HK$20,000,000, it is one of the World’s top 5 richest races on turf over the Intermediate distance.

Final declarations with barriers for the Tenno Sho Autumn will be available on the afternoon of Thursday, 30 October.
