Myer Classic (Empire Rose Stakes) – Form Comments

G1 - 1600m – Turf

1

Sweet Idea

Untried at distance but does have a G1 second at 1500m on resume and in great form. Took on the males when 2.25 lengths 4th to Trust In A Gust in G1 Rupert Clarke Stakes at 1400m before all the way win by 0.75 lengths from Girl Guide in G2 1400m Tristarc Stakes on 18 October.

2

Catkins

Runner-up in this race last year and is a winner at the distance. Raced handy, held on well when 2 lengths 3rd to Sweet Idea in the Tristarc Stakes on 18 October. Capable all conditions but excels on soft ground.

3

Diamond Drille

First run for almost two months when 2.7 lengths 7th to Sweet Idea in the Tristarc Stakes (1400m) on 18 October. Fitter, better suited under weight conditions here and has won two from two at 1600m.

4

May's Dream

Ran on well when 2.1 lengths 4th to Sweet Idea in the Tristarc Stakes at third run this season. Down in weight here and advantaged by rise in distance.

5

Viadana

Strong form in New Zealand including eight wins at this distance but below best in two runs in Australia this season. Last start, fair from barrier 16 when 6.9 lengths 11th to Star Fashion in a 1600m G3 at Caulfield on 15 October.

6

Bonaria

Last start finished 2.7 lengths 7th to Star Fashion in a 1600m G3 at Caulfield on 15 October. Below best of late but has won three of four starts this course and distance and would appreciate some give in the track.

7

Solicit

Drew wide and worked hard to lead at fast pace when 2.75 lengths 8th to Trust In A Gust in G1 Toorak Handicap (1600m) at Caulfield on 11 October. Expect better.

8

Enquare

Worked hard early and faded when 4.8 lengths last of ten behind Sweet Idea in the Tristarc Stakes on 18 October. Untried past 1400m.

9

Estonian Princess

Led when long head 2nd to Neena Rock in G3 Angst Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on 11 October. This is harder but she's on the improve.

10

Girl Guide

Sound effort at first attempt at 1400m when 0.75 lengths 2nd to Sweet Idea in the Tristarc Stakes on 18 October. Now goes to 1600m for the first time.

11

Forever Loved

Solid winner over 1400m at this track on 4 October before 9.9 lengths 12th behind Star Fashion in a 1600m G3 on 15 October when pulled up lame. Can improve but some query 1600m.

12

You're So Good

Improved effort last Saturday when 1.35 lengths 3rd to Suavito in 1600m G3 Tesio Stakes at Moonee Valley. Solid record this track with three seconds from six starts.

13

Star Fashion

Won both starts this season - finishing strongly from back of the field each time. Won fresh at 1400m beating Suavito and then won a 1600m G3 at Caulfield on 15 October by 0.5 lengths from Lady Cumquat and Suavito.

14

Politeness

Slow pace against and ran on well when 2.3 lengths 5th to Sweet Idea in the 1400m Tristarc Stakes on 18 October. Among the chances.

15

Myamira

Up in class but has good record this distance and fitter for two runs after break. Last start pace against when 5.7 lengths last of ten behind Excess Knowledge in Randwick 1600m Rating 95 Hcp on 18 October.

16

Neena Rock

Raced handy and too strong last start when long head winner over Estonian Princess in G3 Angst Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on 11 October. Also won previous 1600m run on good ground.

Reserves

17

Girl In Flight

Slow pace against and run was sound when 2.4 lengths 6th to Sweet Idea in Tristarc Stakes on 18 October. That was second run after five months break and jump to 1600m a plus.

18

Zonza

Sound on-pace effort at second run this season when 0.4 lengths 4th to Costume in 2040m G1 Livamol Classic on 4 October. Back to 1600m no issue.

19

Quayside

Wins at 1400m and 1800m before head 2nd to No Excuses Bec over 2080m at Cranbourne. Better suited on bigger track here.

20

Mahara

Impressive winner at second run this season when scored by 0.8 lengths from All Cerise in Randwick 1400m Rating 85 Hcp on 18 October. Won one of two starts at this distance.
