HKJC reaches agreement with Singapore Turf Club to provide commingling to Singapore racing fans

08/12/2014

The Hong Kong Jockey Club announced today that with effect from the race meeting at Happy Valley this Wednesday, 10 December, the opportunity to bet into HKJC’s pari-mutuel pools on Hong Kong races will be offered to customers of the Singapore Turf Club.

Singapore Turf Club is the only horse racing club in the city state and only agent as well as proprietary club of the Tote Board with authorisation to operate horse racing and totalisator operations. It has been a long standing partner of the HKJC. Since 1994, it has been simulcasting races from Hong Kong and offering its own local pools to accept bets on these races.

Singapore is the latest jurisdiction to begin commingling into the Club’s pools following the USA, Australia, Macau and New Zealand.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Executive Director of Racing, William A. Nader, welcomed Singapore's inclusion on the list. “The addition of Singapore Turf Club to our commingling roster is a tremendous achievement for both clubs and for the Asian Racing Federation,” said Nader.

“On behalf of The Hong Kong Jockey Club, I appreciate the great effort that Singapore Turf Club has made to make this happen, as allowing Singaporean racing fans access to the world’s largest wagering pools will provide them with a much better customer experience. Hong Kong racing is extremely popular in Singapore and we fully expect commingling to enhance the value proposition and take this partnership to a higher level,” added Mr Nader.

Singapore Turf Club will be offering the following bet types to its customers: Win, Place, Quinella, Quinella Place and Tierce.
