To mark the 130th Anniversary of The Hong Kong Jockey Club, the Club will be celebrating with the people of Hong Kong this Saturday, 10 January, at Sha Tin Racecourse. Members of the public attending the 130th Anniversary Raceday will be able to enjoy an array of spectacular on-course activities, and each racegoer will receive a highly collectible commemorative pen upon admission before the start of Race 5, or while stocks last.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club 130th Anniversary Cup
On the track, the day's highlight will be the running of The Hong Kong Jockey Club 130th Anniversary Cup over 1,200 metres on turf, scheduled as Race 4. HKSAR Chief Executive The Hon C Y Leung will present the trophy to the winning owner after the race.
Live performance of 130th Anniversary celebration song "Progressing Together"
To start the day in a perfect style, racegoers will get a first listen of the 130th Anniversary celebration theme song "Progressing Together" (�P�i), which is being officially launched at this special raceday. It will be performed in two distinctive arrangements by local band Mr. and singer/songwriter duo Robynn & Kendy.
strong>Close encounters with star jockey
At Sha Tin Racecourse to sign autographs and pose for souvenir snaps with fans will be Basil Marcus, a partner of Triple Crown winner River Verdon and seven-time Hong Kong champion jockey.
Also, a giant mascot bearing the colours of Silent Witness will be parading around the racecourse and greeting racegoers.
130th Anniversary "Let's Know It All" quiz game
A game booth will be set up in the 1/F Public Enclosure of Grandstand II, welcoming racing fans to learn more information about the Club through a "Let's Know It All" quiz game. Participants will get a Horse Head Pen (while stocks last) and become eligible to enter a lucky draw for the grand prize of a tablet computer.
Video footage on the Club's key projects and developments will be displayed at the venue to share stories the Club has gone through with Hong Kong people over past years.
Distinctly Hong Kong Delicacies at HK$13 each
MezzaOne and trackside fast food kiosks at Sha Tin Racecourse will be serving 13 distinctive local delicacies at just $13 each.
130th Anniversary Themed Souvenirs
A series of limited edition 130th Anniversary themed souvenirs will also be available on the day at "Gift Shop At The Races" in Sha Tin Racecourse, while stocks last.
