"REDKIRK WARRIOR" INQUIRY

14/01/2015

The Stewards today concluded their inquiry into G Mosse’s handling of REDKIRK WARRIOR in the Wang Chau Handicap which was run at Sha Tin Racecourse on Sunday, 4 January 2015.

After taking further evidence from G Mosse, the Stewards decided, after considering all the evidence, that the charge issued against G Mosse on Monday, 12 January 2015 for breaching Rule of Racing 99 (2) and (5) was sustained and accordingly he was found guilty of the charge.  In the circumstances, the Stewards considered the appropriate penalty was for Jockey Mosse’s licence to ride in races to be suspended for a period to expire on Thursday, 2 April 2015 on which day he may resume race riding.  This suspension shall commence on Thursday, 5 February 2015 on which day he was due to resume race riding from a suspension incurred at the Sha Tin racemeeting on Saturday, 10 January 2015.  During this period, there are 15 racemeetings scheduled to be conducted in Hong Kong.

Mr W Y So, the trainer of REDKIRK WARRIOR, was advised that his evidence would be noted.  He was further reminded of his obligation to at all times provide instructions to ensure that, wherever possible, horses trained by him are ridden in accordance with the Rules of Racing.
