World-class illusionists to dazzle racegoers at Happy Valley parties

26/01/2015

On the Happy Wednesday nights of 28 January and 4 February, a trio of world-class illusionists will converge on Happy Valley's popular Beer Garden to dazzle racegoers at the "Magic in the Valley" party nights.  Infectious live music, delicious eats and the thrilling atmosphere of the track will ensure that the magic extravaganza is a not-to-be-missed event. By joining fun games, fans can earn the chance to win jewellery items worth over HK$18,000 in total (Photo 1).

World-renowned magicians Jeremy Pei from Singapore (Photo 2), Lee Jung Min from Korea (Photo 3) and Hong Kong’s own Avon Lee  (Photo 4) will take the Valley stage to deliver mind-boggling performances.  Leading close-up magician Sean MacFarlane will also be on hand in the Beer Garden to show off his fiendishly clever sleight of hand. As a bonus, he’ll be giving out prizes to the audience throughout his act (Photo 5).

Fans can pose for state-of-the-art 3D photos, which use clever shadowing and tricks of perspective to make the image appear to be magically protruding from the frame.

As February is also Valentine’s month, partygoers will be challenged to celebrate the magic of love by joining an interactive game which offers the chance to win a “My Love Platinum Plated 925 Silver Couple Necklaces (worth HK$1,920) (Photo 6) or a 925 Silver Couple Bangles (worth HK$1,950) (Photo 7), sponsored by MaBelle.

Celebrated jockey Joao Moreira is known as the “Magic Man” to Hong Kong racing enthusiasts, so it seems only fitting that he should be a part of Magic in the Valley. By giving a “Like” to both MaBelle and Happy Wednesday on Facebook, and then writing a post about why they think Moreira is so magical, fans have the chance to win a MaBelle Diamond product worth $7,500 (Photo 8), awarded for the best answer each week.

Two magic-themed cocktails, Black Magic Orange(Photo 9) and Blue Fantasy (Photo 10), have been tailor-made by talented mixologists for these two Magic in the Valley nights.  Meanwhile, adrenaline and The Gallery will present magic performances by Lee Jung Min and Jeremy Pei.  To elevate further the magical atmosphere, adrenaline has prepared a Middle-Eastern buffet dinner and live performance by Asian jazz diva Jennifer Palor. For bookings, please call 3690-3690.

Please refer to on-site notices for detailed game rules and terms and conditions.  All racegoers must be aged 18 or above. For enquiries, please call HKJC’s Customer Service Hotline 1817 or visit www.hkjc.com.
