The Hong Kong Jockey Club purchased five colts out of this week’s 2015 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale (1-4 March) for a total outlay of A$770,000 (approximately HK$4.6 million).
The Club went to A$210,000 for Lot 534, a bay colt from the first crop of Master Of Design, a speedy G1-winning son of Redoute’s Choice. The youngster is out of the 1400m winner Sparkling Symphony, herself a half-sister to the HKG1 Champions & Chater Cup hero Packing Winner.
The sale’s first session yielded two early buys. Lot 7 is a chestnut son of Exceed And Excel out of an unraced half-sister to the high-class French black type earners Article Rare and Android, from the same family as the multiple G1-placed Argentina. Lot 10 is a bay colt by Hussonet, the sire of G1 Hong Kong Mile winner Glorious Days, out of the South African G2 winner Almah.
