G1 – 1200M – Turf

1

Lankan Rupee

Impressive winner from Brazen Beau in G1 Lightning Stakes (1000m) at first run in 2015. Then below best last start when 4.25 lengths 6th to Brazen Beau in G1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m) at Flemington on 14 March. Trainer later diagnosed muscular inflammation. Better suited under WFA conditions here and did win this race last year on rain affected ground.

2

Terravista

Won G1 Darley Classic (1200m) from Chautauqua and Lankan Rupee last November. Sound effort at first run since then when 3.25 lengths 3rd to Brazen Beau in G1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m). Fitter for latest run and capable all conditions.

3

Chautauqua

Consistent sprinter with three wins and two seconds from past five starts. Finished strongly when 2.75 lengths 2nd to Brazen Beau in G1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m) on 14 March. Strong chance.

4

Tiger Tees

Found track too firm at first run in 2015 when last of eight behind Cosmic Endeavour in G1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m) on 7 March. Since been placed in barrier trial on soft ground. Best form on soft ground. Ran creditable fourth in this race last year.

5

Famous Seamus

Settled last from wide draw when 4 lengths 9th to Lucky Hussler in G1 William Reid Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on 27 March. Capable of better. Place chance.

6

Fontelina

Tracked wide, ran fairly when 4.5 lengths 11th to Lucky Hussler in G1 William Reid Stakes at Moonee Valley. That was first run for just more than 12 months when runner-up in same race. Likely to be fitter.

7

Fast 'N' Rocking

Strong finisher racing in good form. Ran 0.8 lengths 3rd to Shamal Wind in G1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) on 28 February before 2.5 lengths 4th to Sweet Idea in G1 Galaxy (1100m) at Rosehill on 21 March. Rain affected track would be of some concern.

8

Rain Affair

Front running wet-tracker. Ran well last Saturday, on good rated track, when 2.9 lengths 4th to Generalife in G3 Star Kingdom Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill. Much harder here at G1 level but could run cheeky race if track turns soft.

9

Lord Of The Sky

Career best last start when led and held on for 3.5 lengths 4th to Brazen Beau in G1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m) at Flemington. Competitive but doubt could win.

10

Sweet Idea

Moreira takes over on this consistent filly who has finished outside the first three only three times in 19 starts. Good performance at first run in 2015 when closing 2.3 lengths win from Kuro in G1 Galaxy (1100m) at Rosehill on 21 March.

11

Press Report

3YO taking on the older horses here. Came from near last on turn when won Warwick Farm 1200m Rating 80 race on 28 February and faces huge rise in class.
