LINE SEEKER (S269) V 26 April 2015 Sha Tin Racemeeting

23/04/2015

The Stewards have spoken with Trainer Paul O'Sullivan regarding his application to add a tongue tie to the gear worn by LINE SEEKER, a declared starter in the Audemars Piguet Lady Jules Audemars Handicap (Race 10) to be conducted at the Sha Tin race meeting on Sunday, 26 April 2015.  LINE SEEKER was successful at its most recent race start on 28 December 2014 when racing with a ring bit only.

Mr O'Sullivan explained that Jockey Zac Purton, who has ridden LINE SEEKER in all of its races in Hong Kong as well as in a recent barrier trial, informed him that the horse has been making an abnormal breathing noise which has been progressively worsening.  Accordingly, it was decided to fit a tongue tie to the horse in its recent work to establish whether this would assist the horse.  Mr O’Sullivan added that following the addition of this piece of equipment the abnormal breathing noise was not as pronounced as it had been.

Having considered the merits of Mr O'Sullivan’s application, the Stewards have approved for LINE SEEKER to race with a tongue tie in the stated race.
