Prior to the Sha Tin race meeting conducted yesterday, Jockey Zac Purton was stood down from riding when he required medical attention for a condition similar to that which he experienced late last season. The Stewards have this afternoon been provided with a medical clearance enabling Jockey Purton to resume riding trackwork and to ride in official barrier trials tomorrow morning. Following riding work and in trials, Jockey Purton will attend a medical appointment with a view to being cleared to ride in races at the Happy Valley race meeting scheduled to be conducted on Wednesday, 29 April 2015. Jockey Purton, who has been unable to reduce his weight due to having undergone a medical procedure yesterday, will also inform the Stewards tomorrow morning if it is necessary for him to be substituted on any of his lighter weighted rides at the aforementioned meeting. Standby declared riders have previously been notified for Jockey Purton’s intended race rides.
