Five HK runners depart for Singapore

Five Hong Kong runners departed for Singapore this morning (Saturday, 9 May) ahead of the G1 Singapore Airlines International Cup and G1 KrisFlyer International Sprint at Kranji Racecourse on Sunday, 17 May. The John Moore-trained Dan Excel and the Caspar Fownes-trained Lucky Nine will be defending their titles in the two G1 races respectively. 2013 SIA Cup winner Military Attack will again compete in the Singapore Airlines International Cup. Aerovelocity, winner of the G1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen in late March, and Rich Tapestry, winner of the G1 Santa Anita Sprint Championship in October last year, will be bidding to add to their international reputations in the KrisFlyer International Sprint.

The S$3 million SIA Cup will be run over 2000m on turf, and the S$1 million KrisFlyer Sprint, the 4th leg of the Global Sprint Challenge, will be run over 1200m on turf.
