Singapore Airlines International Cup Day races to be simulcast for betting

11/05/2015

The Hong Kong Jockey Club will simulcast for betting seven races from the Singapore Airlines International Cup Day at Kranji racecourse on Sunday, 17 May (1st race 4:45pm).

For the last two years Hong Kong trained horses have taken the Singapore International Racing Festival by storm with a remarkable clean sweep of the two Group One features on the card.

A strong squad of five has been assembled for this year’s Lion City challenge.   In the Singapore Airlines International Cup (G1 2000m), both Military Attack (Caspar Fownes) and Dan Excel (John Moore) are bidding to become the first ever two-time winner of Singapore’s flagship race.  Military Attack took the honours in 2013 before finishing third to Dan Excel last year.

Hopes are high for Hong Kong to capture the KrisFlyer International Sprint (G1 1200m) for the fifth time in seven years.  Veteran Lucky Nine (Caspar Fownes), the winner of the race in 2013 and 2014, will be joined by Group 1-winning pair Aerovelocity (Paul O’Sullivan) and Rich Tapestry (Michael Chang).

Five domestic races, the names of which are to be announced, will complete the Singapore simulcast.

Final declarations with barrier draws for the Singapore races will be available on Thursday, 14 May.
