The summer heatwave might have hit town but that’s no excuse not to party, especially with Happy Wednesday’s “Summer Samba Splash” parties running through June (Photo 1). Samba beats, ice-cool cocktails and a mouth-watering Brazilian buffet are just some of the reasons to head to the Valley. And if that’s not enough Hollywood star stylist Adam Saaks is giving live performances of his amazing cut-out fashion (Photo 2).
Scissors and Style
Saaks is a fashion icon with a unique talent. Armed only with a pair of scissors he re-fashions clothes worn by models in a live performance, creating remarkable, one- of-a- kind styles on the spot. His most talked about feat was the cut-out top worn by Spanish diva Shakira in the MV of "LaLaLa", the anthem of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. And for his Hong Kong debut he’ll be taking to the stage in the Beer Garden on 17 and 24 June, and on the opening night with celebrated local artist Jennifer Tse (Photo 3). So if you want to see a unique piece of fashion in the making be sure to take your place early.
Samba, Samba!
It wouldn’t be Brazil without samba, and to keep the party going samba dancers will be performing on stage.

And what’s dinner without a show? Diners will be treated to a live performance by Jennifer Palor and her band. And Adam Saaks will be on hand with a performance of his amazing cut-out art.
