Witness the crowning of champions at this Sunday's Season Finale Racemeeting

The 2014/15 racing season has now reached the final furlong, with the Season Finale to be held this Sunday at Sha Tin Racecourse.  Among its many highlights are the crowning of the season's Champion Trainer and Champion Jockey after the final race, as well as the ever-popular jockey parade.

The day will start with the presentation of a silver-gilt dish to Apprentice Jockey Alvin Ng in celebration of his graduation to the jockey’s ranks. The ceremony will be held in the Parade Ring before races start, with the presentation being made by the Club’s Executive Director of Racing, Mr William Nader.

After Race 7, Chief Executive Officer Mr Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges will present the new Best Freelance Jockey Award to the freelance jockey with the most winners in the season. 

The day will reach a climax with the presentation ceremony for the season's Champion Trainer and Champion Jockey after the final race, the awards being presented by the Club’s Chairman Dr Simon S O Ip and the Deputy Chairman Mr Anthony W K Chow respectively. The keenly anticipated results of the Most Admired Overseas Horse, voted for by the public, will also be announced.

The day will close with the ever-popular Season Finale Parade on the turf track, with jockeys saying farewell and thanks to fans, and handing out souvenirs.

Throughout the day, the Season Finale Bazaar Sale will be available at designated locations, with over 100 items of racing merchandise on sale at up to 70% off the regular price.  The Club’s Horse Mascot will also be making appearances for photo opportunities with racing fans.
