After consultation with major stake holders, including Trainers, Jockeys, and Racing Officials, a full-length false outside rail will be installed for races over the 1,000-metre straight course of the Sha Tin turf track, commencing with the season opening meeting on 6 September.
The false rail will be erected four metres from the outside fence for meetings when these distances are scheduled and the inside rail position is set at A, A+3, B, or B+2. Due to the width of the course, when the inside rail position is set at C or C+3, the false outside rail will not be used. The positioning of the gate and loading process will remain unchanged for these races. The Club will monitor the effectiveness and suitability of the revised policy during the new season.
